RZ-440, also known as "Riz," was a stormtrooper of female gender. She was stationed on the forest moon of Endor, where she undertook patrol duties alongside GR-792. In the course of the Battle of Endor, GR-792 came extremely close to killing Princess Leia Organa; however, his shot went astray because RZ-440 inadvertently kicked his leg, causing the blaster bolt to only graze Organa's shoulder. RZ-440 and GR-792 then moved towards Organa and the smuggler Han Solo, only to have GR-792 shot by Organa, which caused RZ-440 to lose consciousness beside him. After regaining consciousness, she encountered Organa within the Bright Tree Village, requesting permission to access the area. Organa responded that she would discuss it with her commanding officers.
