Saens Sukko held the rank of chief sergeant within the Galactic Republic during the era known as the Subterra Period. He played a role in the Waymancy Storm conflict of 7811 BBY, specifically by aiding in the destruction of the Clowse Glowstack, a structure belonging to the Republic's adversaries, the Signatories of Waymancy. Later, Nagratha, the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, expressed gratitude to Sukko for his presence at a commemoration marking the 25th anniversary of Victory in the Waymancy Storm.
During the Subterra Period, which spanned from 8000 BBY to 7000 BBY, Saens Sukko was a chief sergeant in the Armed Forces of the Galactic Republic. It's recorded that Sukko once commented on the inherent link between fear and bravery. The Waymancy Storm conflict, which occurred in 7811 BBY, featured a magnetic cliff on the Inner Rim world of Mittoblade. This cliff was the location of the Clowse Glowstack, a structure associated with the Signatories of Waymancy, who were enemies of the Republic. Sukko, along with other Republic operatives, ascended the cliff, and the sergeant played a part in causing the collapse of the Clowse Glowstack. However, in the process, he lost both of his legs to a raider hailing from Doshan.
In 7786 BBY, Sukko attended a service commemorating the 25th anniversary of Victory in the Waymancy Storm. During a speech given at the ceremony, which was broadcast to numerous worlds, Nagratha, the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, specifically thanked the chief sergeant for his presence and highlighted the events on Mittoblade as one of the war's heroic moments.

Saens Sukko's character was conceived for the 2012 reference work titled The Essential Guide to Warfare, authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart. Originally, he was intended to be mentioned in a section of the book written by Daniel Wallace, but this section was removed before publication. As a nod to both this deletion and the removal of content describing, among other things, the propagandist "Ryloth Resa" and the skilled naval captain and strategist Mar Tuuk, Fry assigned Sukko the opening quote of the book's chapter focusing on the military forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Later, in 2014, the section featuring Sukko was released as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss, which contained various pieces of content that had been cut from The Essential Guide to Warfare.
