Saigok, a strategic board game played by two individuals in a turn-based manner, shared its origins with dejarik. Both games were conceptualized by the same person. To enhance their strategic capabilities, members of the Free Ryloth Movement were mandated to achieve proficiency in saigok. While Kaasha Bateen, a Twi'lek, excelled at the game, her companion Lando Calrissian did not share her skill. They engaged in a game against each other during 7 ABY.
The game of Saigok, a two-player turn-based board game, owes its creation to the same individual responsible for dejarik. Utilizing small cards and metal figures, players strategically moved across the board to designated locations, such as C-four, eighteen-alpha, ninety-nine, and thirty-nine-Vector, with the option to obstruct their opponent's progress. Strategic thinking was vital in Saigok, and the Free Ryloth Movement made mastery of the game a requirement for its members' tactical training.

During her tenure with the Free Ryloth Movement on the planet of Ryloth, Kaasha Bateen, a Twi'lek combatant, honed her saigok skills. While aboard the ZV-9 freighter Vermillion en route to Kashyyyk in 7 ABY, Bateen joined her partner, the former smuggler Lando Calrissian, in the freighter's main hold for a game of saigok. As Han Solo, an agent of the New Republic, observed their match, Bateen explained the game's mechanics, emphasizing its superior complexity compared to dejarik. Calrissian concurred, suggesting saigok made dejarik appear as a mere child's toy in contrast. Bateen also shared with Solo that Calrissian was a notably unskilled player. Later, while en route to Substation Grimdock, a New Republic prison facility, Chewbacca, the Wookiee, attempted to challenge Bateen. From the cargo hold, Solo overheard Chewbacca's frustrated roars and Bateen's triumphant laughter as they played.
Saigok made an appearance in the 2018 novel titled Last Shot, authored by Daniel José Older.
