Salvo (clone trooper)

Salvo, a clone trooper commander, functioned as the leader of the 32nd Air Combat Wing under the command of Jedi General Roan Shryne during the Battle of Murkhana. His armor, marked by shrapnel damage, displayed rust-brown symbols indicative of an unidentified division.

In line with the standard attire of clones of his rank, Salvo was equipped with a command kama, similar to those used by the Advanced Recon Commandos. He also carried a set of DC-17 hand blasters, and his helmet bore the inscribed motto: "Live to serve!".

Biography

During the execution of Order 66, issued by Emperor Palpatine from Coruscant, Salvo instructed the clone commandos of Ion Squad to set an ambush for Shryne and the three Jedi whom the commando squad had been escorting on an infiltration mission. Climber, the leader of Ion, questioned the order's legitimacy and refused to comply. Instead, Ion Team prepared a counter-ambush targeting Salvo and his troops as they awaited the Jedi. Ion's ambush, though not intended to kill, effectively prevented the standard clones from stopping the Jedi's escape. Enraged by Climber's treasonous defiance, Salvo reported him to his superiors. However, members of his 22nd Company successfully ambushed and eliminated several other Jedi on Murkhana who were not as fortunate as those protected by Ion Team.

When Darth Vader, the Emperor's new enforcer, and his stormtroopers arrived on Murkhana seeking the escaped Jedi, Vader directed Salvo and his men to gather the displaced residents of Murkhana City and force them into slavery. Salvo, still uncertain of Vader's true identity and purpose, presented him with the bodies and lightsabers of the fallen Jedi. Vader instructed him to "dispose of them in any fashion you see fit."
