Sannen was a male Force-sensitive being who fought for the Jedi Order as a Jedi General during the Clone Wars. During the battle that occurred on the fourth moon orbiting Parein II, Sannen commanded the Galactic Republic's military forces against General Grievous and the Separatist forces under his command. Sannen's troops suffered a devastating defeat. Showing immense courage, Sannen moved to directly engage the [cyborg](/article/cyborg], but one of Grievous's IG-100 MagnaGuards instead fatally struck him in the neck using an electrostaff.
The character of Sannen is referenced in current Star Wars canon within the English language version of the encyclopedia called "Battle Droids and Other Droids of War," published in 2023 as part of the Fanhome Star Wars Encyclopedia series.
In the Stars Wars Legends continuity, Sannen initially appeared in "The Story of General Grievous: Lord of War" on the now defunct Hyperspace website (article) (content obsolete and backup link not available). The article was penned by Abel G. Peña and featured illustrations by Joe Corroney, and it was released on February 15, 2006.
