Saqqar
Saqqar, a frigid planet described as icy, existed in Hutt Space, a section of the galaxy under the control of the Hutt species, within the Saqqar system. This planet was situated on the hyperlane known as The Dead Road, providing a route to the planets Tisht and Usk. Furthermore, a minor hyperlane connected it to Nar Haaska.
Saqqar's landscape consisted of expansive, snow-laden plains. Scattered across these plains were enormous, decaying towers, remnants of a long-gone extinct civilization. A partially abandoned orbital station orbited Saqqar, providing services to the infrequent starship traffic on The Dead Road. The Kajidier kajidic, a Hutt family, exerted power on Saqqar.
Behind the scenes
The first reference to Saqqar appeared in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 book of reference written together by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace; the book positioned the planet within grid square T-11. In a 2009 piece on Suvudu.com, Fry commented that he found the name Saqqar to be strangely ominous.
