Saw Gerrera's clandestine base, referred to as the Onderon insurgent camp, functioned as the covert headquarters for the Onderon rebels throughout the Clone Wars. Situated within Sector S-29 of the Inner Rim on the jungle planet of Onderon, the camp was established among the remnants of a long-forgotten building, concealed within the jungle.
Following the conclusion of the Clone Wars and the rise of the Galactic Empire, Saw Gerrera and his Partisans continued to utilize the camp. Soon after the Empire's establishment, Clone Force 99 received orders to eradicate Gerrera's base. Nevertheless, the clone commando squad did not succeed in their objective because Clone Sergeant Hunter hesitated to target the unarmed civilians present within the Partisan group. Subsequently, a newly created Elite Squad, under the command of Clone Commander Crosshair, a former member of Clone Force 99, was sent to try once more to destroy the camp. By this time, Saw Gerrera, the leader of the Partisans, had already departed, leaving a small number of his soldiers and non-combatants.
