SD-10 battle droid
The SD-10 battle droid belonged to the SD-series line of battle droids produced by Balmorran Arms. Similar to previous iterations in the series, the SD-10 was a humanoid combat droid that was noticeably larger than a standard human. Umak Leth was the designer of this model.
Characteristics
The SD-10 model, an improvement in strength and intelligence over its forerunners, notably the SD-9-series battle droid, was armored with laser-reflective armor. It also featured advanced servomotors, precise targeting sensors, self-repairing metal, and a point-of-impact shield generator. Integrated into the SD-10's forearms were a small concussion missile launcher/targeter, a rapid-fire repeating blaster, and a plasma-burst cannon. Furthermore, the SD-10 incorporated an advanced combat sensor array.
History

The SD-10 was created in 10 ABY during the resurrected Emperor Palpatine's military campaign, and manufactured in the extensive droid factories located on Balmorra. Governor Hinch Beltane, harboring resentment towards the Imperial presence, directed his team of engineers, technicians, and designers to equip the SD-10s with rapid-response servos, point-of-impact shield generators, and experimental self-healing metals. The droid's memory banks also contained the combat strategies programmed into the SD-9s, along with guaranteed methods to counter those strategies.
Following the Emperor's second demise during the Battle of Pinnacle Base, the people of Balmorra initiated a rebellion. In response, the Emperor's Military Executor, Sedriss QL, took action to suppress the uprising. Choosing not to use planetary bombardment, Sedriss deployed ground troops, initiating the Battle of Balmorra. In this conflict, the SD-10s were sent directly into battle from the production lines and proved superior to the SD-9s utilized by the Imperials. However, they were outmatched by the newer Imperial Shadow Droids. Subsequently, the Balmorrans deployed their new X-1 Vipers, whose combat effectiveness impressed the Executor enough to prompt a ceasefire between the opposing sides.
