"Secrets of Sienar": A comic strip that appeared in the thirteenth edition of the Star Wars Rebels Magazine series, courtesy of Egmont UK Ltd. Martin Fisher penned the story, Eva Widermann provided the illustrations, and Gunther Nickel served as the editor. It was made available on December 30, 2015.
Set in 4 BBY on the world of Absanz, the story sees Kanan Jarrus and Garazeb Orrelios infiltrating a factory operated by Sienar Fleet Systems. Their mission: to gather intelligence regarding the Galactic Empire's latest TIE prototype and bomb advancements. During their operation, they come across Dron Ryall, a leading designer for Sienar Systems, whom they attempt to abduct for questioning. Despite being set upon by several stormtroopers, Jarrus and Orrelios successfully fend them off.
While communicating with Hera Syndulla via his comms, Jarrus argues that Ryall himself represents a more valuable asset than the information they originally sought. He posits that the sensitive knowledge Ryall possesses could significantly aid the rebellion's efforts, potentially saving countless lives. Syndulla, hesitant and concerned about the lengths the Empire might go to in order to recover their designer, questions whether the potential reward justifies the risk. Despite her reservations, Syndulla agrees to remain in position aboard the Ghost while Jarrus and Orrelios attempt to escape with Ryall as their prisoner.
Jarrus and Orrelios manage to get Ryall onto a Sentinel-class landing craft, but their escape is foiled by fire from an Imperial cruiser that has cut them off. As Ryall begins to fall from the starship, Orrelios catches him, but ultimately releases him after Ryall describes the widespread destruction the Empire will inflict in their pursuit. Back on the Ghost, Jarrus concedes that Syndulla's initial reservations about capturing Ryall were justified. However, she maintains a positive outlook, stating that they now have a better understanding of what to expect from the facility should they attempt another raid.
