The wastewater processing facility existed on the periphery of Naboo's Theed urban center, specifically designed for treating the metropolis's waste. Access to the typically-submerged Theed sewer network was exclusively granted through the wastewater processing facility, since the drainage of the cloacas, in emergency situations, had to start from that location. During the Trade Federation's occupation of Naboo, this arrangement stopped the Royal Naboo Security Forces members detained at Camp Four, situated within the city, from utilizing the sewers as an escape route.
