The sewer network beneath the city of Theed, which served as the capital of Naboo, was known as the Theed sewer system. To maintain sanitary conditions, this system was uniquely managed entirely by droids. Consequently, it was typically filled to capacity with water. The system included cloacas that could be emptied via emergency drainage procedures. However, this draining process had to occur in a specific order, starting with the sewage treatment plant located outside the city limits. Access points to the sewer system were secured with carefully balanced stone covers. Prior to the battle aimed at liberating Naboo from the Trade Federation's occupation, Captain Quarsh Panaka of the Royal Naboo Security Forces utilized the sewer system to infiltrate Camp Four within Theed. This allowed several security personnel, including Mariek Panaka, Tonra, and the Naboo Royal Handmaidens Saché and Yané, to flee the camp.
