According to a story originating from the Mustafarian Lellis not long after the Battle of Endor, Seward was a moff within the Galactic Empire's High Command. The story recounts that Seward sent Inspector Vaneé to Fortress Vader on Mustafar to determine the cause of insanity affecting over a dozen lava troopers. Upon his arrival outside the bacta tank chamber belonging to the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader, Vaneé informed Vader that Seward had dispatched him to look into the matter. Subsequently, Vaneé also experienced the same madness-inducing effects from the gases present in the fortress, and swore allegiance to Vader.
