The Sheltered Keep, situated on the planet Exegol, served as a repository for intelligence regarding the Sith Maul's command over the criminal organization known as the Crimson Dawn. Following the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY, where the Resistance wrested control of Exegol from the Sith Eternal, the Exegol Excavation Project extracted the Maul-related data from the Sheltered Keep. This information was then incorporated into a dossier detailing Maul's illicit actions, specifically within the "Sith Lords" portion of their records. During that year, Beaumont Kin, a historian, referenced the Sheltered Keep in his book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, while referencing information sourced from the project's files.
