Exegol Excavation Project

The Exegol Excavation Project represents an archaeological undertaking, which took place circa 35 ABY. This project was spearheaded by historian Beaumont Kin following the Battle of Exegol and the ultimate demise of the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious. A primary objective was the excavation of the Sith Citadel located on Exegol. During this process, the team unearthed evidence linking Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine to the Sith, including scrolls referencing his own Sith Master, Darth Plagueis. They also discovered artifacts originating from worlds previously considered mythological, such as Moraband and Dromund Kaas. Furthermore, scrolls with annotations by Sidious himself were found, which described a prophesied Sith'ari: an individual destined to guide the Sith toward triumph.

Kin's book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, was informed by the excavation's discoveries. The book chronicles the transformation of the Galactic Republic into the titular Galactic Empire, and its subsequent fall due to the actions of Luke Skywalker and the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
