Shuma (Hutt)
Shuma was a Hutt entrepreneur who had been uprooted from his home and found himself on Dantooine during the tumultuous times of the Jedi Civil War.
Before the outbreak of the Jedi Civil War, Shuma, considered an unconventional Hutt, operated a lawful business on the planet Neka. The Sith fleet then moved in, cutting off Neka's hyperlanes. Shuma was compelled to evacuate the planet, relying on the services of skilled pilots capable of navigating the Sith blockade. Tragically, Neka was subsequently subjected to a viral bombardment by a Sith commander, resulting in the annihilation of all sentient beings.
Shuma sought sanctuary at the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine, where the Jedi Council willingly provided him with refuge from the ongoing conflict. It remains uncertain whether he managed to evade death for a second time when Darth Malak launched his assault on Dantooine in 3956 BBY.
Behind the scenes
Shuma's character was ultimately removed from the retail version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Nevertheless, the data corresponding to his conversations can still be found within the game's programming.
