Jammer

The functionality of a comlink used by an Imperial officer is disrupted by a signal jammer.

A communications jammer, otherwise referred to as simply a jammer or a signal jammer, was a type of equipment designed to disrupt transmissions.

Bail Organa, during his tenure as a member of the Galactic Republic's Senate, would occasionally utilize a signal jammer. This device was affixed to his belt and kept out of sight beneath the folds of his cape.

A signal jammer was in the possession of Gall Trayvis, an Imperial Senate Senator who was in exile. He employed this device to momentarily impede Imperial transmissions. Although the Empire was quick to cut him off upon detection, he would seize control of the feed and transmit his own messages beforehand. Sabine Wren noted in her personal journal that these messages were "a concentrated dose of the TRUTH," but in reality, Trayvis' broadcasts were a ruse to ensnare rebels in traps.
