The Sith Embassy functioned as the diplomatic outpost for Darth Revan's Sith Empire on Manaan, a neutral planet situated in the Inner Rim. Manaan was the homeworld of the aquatic Selkath, and the embassy's primary function was to oversee the shipment of kolto from the planet to the Sith. The embassy was located within the Ahto City Civil Authority.
During the time of the Jedi Civil War, the Sith employed the embassy to entice young, Force-sensitive Selkath, such as Shasa and Galas, with the goal of turning them to the dark side. The Sith planned to use these corrupted Selkath to seize control of Manaan from the inside. After the Sith managed to seize a Republic probe droid that held critical information regarding the Republic's covert kolto-processing station located at the Hrakert Rift, Roland Wann, who was the head of the Republic Embassy, requested that the amnesiac Jedi Revan infiltrate the Sith Embassy to recover the data. Revan successfully breached the embassy's defenses and retrieved the data core. During this operation, he encountered Shasa and her companions, convincing them of the Sith's sinister intentions to conquer Manaan, thus revealing their true evil. Armed with this knowledge, they returned to Ahto City. Upon Revan's departure from the embassy, he was apprehended by the Ahto City Civil Authority, only to be released after exposing the Sith's plans. Revan then delivered the recovered information back to Roland. Later on, the Selkath destroyed the embassy completely, due to the Sith's corruption of their youth with the dark side.
Within Ahto City, the Sith maintained a dedicated hangar bay, offering visiting Sith Masters convenient access to the embassy via an airspeeder transport. The Embassy also had an Ambassadorial Commission.
In KotOR, the player has three distinct methods for gaining entry to the Sith base. The first option involves interrogating a Sith prisoner to acquire the necessary pass card. Another approach is to decrypt a passcard to gain access. The third method entails using a transport located in a private hangar within Ahto City Docking Bay. This ship is heavily guarded. Roland Wann provides the player with a hangar key if they choose to raid the hangar. However, the player can only enter the hangar if they possess a security skill level of 20 or higher.
