Sith sniper rifle

The Sith sniper rifle represents a specialized modification of a blaster rifle. This weapon was employed by the Sith Empire during their conflict with the Galactic Republic in the Jedi Civil War. A specific blaster rifle of this type was in the possession of Kebla Yurt, a Human female, around 3956 BBY. She kept this weapon available for sale at her Equipment Emporium situated in the Upper City of Taris, an Outer Rim planet. Notably, unlike much of her other weaponry, this particular sniper rifle escaped confiscation by the Sith forces when they occupied and subsequently quarantined the ecumenopolis. Also in 3956 BBY, examples of Sith sniper rifles could be found at the Sith Academy on Korriban, another planet in the Outer Rim, as well as at the Temple of the Ancients, a Sith-controlled location in the Unknown Regions on Lehon, the homeworld of the Rakatan.

Functionally, the modified rifle served as an effective sniper weapon, with a price tag of 1,500 credits. Despite its effectiveness, the Sith did not utilize this rifle extensively, as they generally favored engagements at closer ranges.

Behind the scenes

The Sith sniper rifle made its debut in the 2003 video game, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was developed by BioWare. Players can discover it within containers that are not essential to open, and it is also available for purchase from Kebla Yurt, a non-player character, whose interactions are optional and do not influence the game's plot or the player's alignment.
