During the time period of 1 BBY, specifically within the year, a brief conflict, or skirmish, occurred on the starship known as the Star of Empire. This clash involved operatives of the Rebel Alliance and forces of the Galactic Empire. The Imperial cadet Kyle Katarn's decision to defect to the Alliance prompted Governor Dol Donar II to dispatch Slyder, a bounty hunter, along with several Imperial soldiers. Their mission was to apprehend Katarn and eliminate the Rebel agents aiding him. Despite this, Katarn, along with the agents Jan Ors, Rosco Ross, and Ris Waller, successfully fled aboard the Truly Sorry. However, their droid, A-Cee, was captured by Slyder on the Star of Empire and subsequently taken to Donar. Opting not to risk losing the rebels, the governor chose to pursue them on his yacht, accompanied by Slyder, his son Nathan Donar III, A-Cee, and various other individuals. When a technician attempted to reactivate A-Cee, the droid identified Nathan's Imperial officer's uniform. Programmed to initiate self-destruction upon detecting such a uniform, A-Cee audibly announced its impending self-destruction, much to the dismay of the Imperials. Highly dissatisfied with the Imperials, Slyder killed both of the Donars prior to A-Cee's detonation, which destroyed the Donar yacht and enabled the rebels to escape.
