Before the Battle of Hoth, a bounty hunter called Skorr was active. He confronted a group of Rebel Alliance personnel on the planet Ord Mantell. This group included Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan, and Han Solo, the captain of a freighter. Later, as he was getting ready to leave the Alliance on Hoth, Solo mentioned his run-in with Skorr to Organa as one of the reasons for his departure.
The character Skorr was initially mentioned in the 1980 film, Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, with the screenplay penned by Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasdan. Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, differing versions of the encounter between Solo and the bounty hunter were presented. The now-defunct StarWars.com Databank identified the hunter as Skorr, a character who debuted in the 1981 comic strip The Bounty Hunter of Ord Mantell, authored by Archie Goodwin and with illustrations by Al Williamson. The bounty hunter's identity was eventually revealed in the short story "The Whills Strike Back," which Tom Angleberger wrote and was published in 2020 as part of the anthology From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.
A character visually similar to the Legends version of Skorr makes a cameo appearance as a background character in the Star Wars Forces of Destiny episode Bounty Hunted.
