Snow King

The Snow King reigned as a potent figure over the winter period in the forest moon of Endor. The season scepter was crucial for him to usher in winter. He shared familial ties with the Leaf Queen, Sun King, and Flower Queen, being their brother. He was charmed by Odra, the Duchess of Sleet, in 3 ABY, which led to a romantic involvement. During this affair, she froze his heart, transforming him into a brutal oppressor.

After seizing control, he commanded his Iceheads to take the season scepter from the Sun King, subsequently using it to plunge Endor into a perpetual winter. Only the endeavors of the Ewok Wicket Wystri Warrick and his associates, who were acting on behalf of a coalition of Endor's other season deities, managed to thwart Odra and the Snow King. In a confrontation at the Snow Palace, the King's heart was unfrozen. Realizing the magnitude of his misdeeds, the Snow King reversed his malevolence, rectifying all the damage he had inflicted.

Biography

Rise to power

The Snow Palace

Alongside his siblings, the Leaf Queen, Sun King, and Flower Queen, the Snow King held a position of regional significance on the forest moon of Endor. He encountered the season scepter, a potent artifact imbued with the Force. This scepter, a device of immense power, bestowed upon its wielder mastery over a specific seasonal weather pattern. The Snow King ascended to the role of ruler over winter either before or during the Imperial era. Simultaneously, his siblings gained dominion over autumn, spring, and summer. An arrangement was established wherein the four siblings would alternate their seasons in a structured manner. The Snow King established his residence within the Snow Palace, a formidable structure virtually impervious to attacks. From this stronghold, the Snow King would preside over his season. The Iceheads, beings devoted to him, were also housed there. The Snow King possessed the ability to initiate winter at any moment he deemed appropriate, utilizing the Sun King's season scepter.

An affair to remember

Duchess Odra of Sleet crossed paths with the Snow King in 3 ABY. He defied his siblings' wishes by falling in love with her, embarking on a romantic liaison. During their tumultuous affair, the Duchess literally froze the Snow King's heart. However, this did not result in his demise; instead, it transformed him into a callous and ruthless dictator. His physical appearance underwent a transformation, reflecting Odra's actions; he evolved into a sharp, ice-like entity, contrasting with his original snow-like form. In his frozen condition, the Snow King became susceptible to manipulation, which Odra exploited to her advantage. Effectively assuming command of the Iceheads, Odra orchestrated a raid on the Sun King's palace.

The raid proved successful, with the Iceheads successfully pilfering the season scepter from the unsuspecting Sun King. Upon returning to the Snow Palace, Odra convinced the King to impose an eternal blanket of snow over a significant portion of Endor, notably the Ewok-populated Bright Tree Village, with the intent of seizing the powerful Sunstar from them. In response, the Snow King's siblings united to form a coalition, aimed at resisting the winter's encroachment. They attempted to engage in negotiations with the Snow King, but he remained resolute, refusing to communicate with them.

Fatal attraction

The coalition responded by attempting to contact Bright Tree Village, specifically Ewok shaman Logray. However, their transmission went astray, and was intercepted by Wicket Wystri Warrick instead. Warrick and his companions—Princess Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka of Bright Tree Village, shaman-in-training Teebo, and aspiring actress Latara—decided to journey to the Sun King's palace and offer their assistance to the coalition. To thwart this, Odra dispatched the Iceheads to intercept the four Ewoks. Although the raid did not achieve complete success, Kneesaa was captured and transported to the Snow Palace. There, the Snow King encased her in a block of ice, intending to use her as leverage to compel the coalition and Bright Tree to submit to his demands.

Meanwhile, back at the Sun King's palace, the coalition devised a clandestine operation wherein Warrick, Teebo, and Latara would infiltrate the Snow Palace and retrieve the season scepter for the Sun King. Warrick successfully gained entry to the palace by disguising himself and his friends as Iceheads; however, Odra identified them in the throne room.

After a failed attempt to seize the season scepter by tempting the Snow King with ice-on-a-stick, a confrontation ensued, and Kneesaa was liberated with relative ease. Warrick managed to wrest control of the scepter from the Snow King and turned it against the tyrant. The scepter, wielded by Warrick, melted the King's frozen heart, restoring him to his former, cheerful state. The scepter's power also impacted Odra, forcing her to retreat. Despite the loss of his lover, the Snow King remained in high spirits and sought forgiveness for his past transgressions, citing ignorance as his defense. The Sun King pardoned his brother, allowing him to retain his position of authority.

Personality and traits

Prior to his heart being frozen, the Snow King enjoyed the affection of his siblings. However, when Odra froze his heart, he transformed into a violent, cruel, and relentless tyrant, even willing to freeze an Ewok child in ice without considering the consequences. His political acumen also shifted, leading him to openly oppose his siblings. Upon being defrosted, the Snow King reverted to his former self, experiencing amnesia and failing to comprehend the extent of his previous atrocities. He sported a blue mustache.
