The Leaf Queen reigned supreme as a sorceress of immense power, governing the autumn season on Endor, the forest moon. Her command over autumn was facilitated by the Season Scepter, a potent relic shared amongst the rulers of the Endorian seasons. The Flower Queen, Sun King, and Snow King, her siblings, collaborated with the Leaf Queen to orchestrate the planet's weather patterns throughout the year. She was revered as a deity due to her dominion over the fall season.
The Leaf Queen maintained a close relationship with the indigenous Ewoks, frequently engaging with the inhabitants of Bright Tree Village. A skilled horticulturist, she even cultivated a magical plant capable of granting wishes. During the Odra crisis, the Leaf Queen united her siblings in an alliance to oppose the Snow King and his lover, Odra, who had seized control of the Season Scepter.

Sometime before the Battle of Yavin, the Leaf Queen, a being attuned to the Force, ascended to power on the forest moon of Endor, presiding over the autumn season. Simultaneously, her siblings, the Flower Queen, Sun King, and Snow King, assumed control over spring, summer, and winter, respectively. Their seasonal authority stemmed from the Season Scepter, a mystical artifact capable of manipulating the weather when wielded correctly. The siblings rotated possession of this scepter as the seasons transitioned, thereby facilitating the change in weather.
Their control over the seasons led to their deification by the people of Endor. The Leaf Queen, a proficient horticulturist, even saw a special plant that she cultivated become an object of reverence for young Ewoks seeking guidance. Despite being viewed as a deity by the native species, the Leaf Queen did not abstain from interacting with them, fostering friendly relationships with the Ewoks, especially those from Bright Tree Village. Logray, the elderly Shaman of this village, was a close confidant of the Leaf Queen and her siblings, and they frequently sought his counsel.
In one instance of her interaction with the Ewoks, the Leaf Queen encountered Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka, the young Princess, attempting to enhance her gardening skills. As the future leader of the Ewoks of Bright Tree Village, Kneesaa would be responsible for safeguarding the Soul Trees. However, the princess struggled with gardening, and her plants consistently withered. Perhaps as a test, the Leaf Queen entrusted one of her prized wish plants to Kneesaa. Promising to return in three days, the Leaf Queen instructed Kneesaa to shower the plant with affection, ensuring its well-being. Despite the young Ewok's reservations about her abilities, the Leaf Queen insisted on Kneesaa's assistance and vanished before she could protest further.

Over the next three days, Kneesaa remained vigilant, caring for the plant as the Leaf Queen had instructed. On the third day, Kneesaa inadvertently discovered the plant's ability to grant wishes when she absentmindedly wished for a way to clean her fur after it became soiled with mud. The plant responded by unfurling a colorful brush from one of its blossoms. However, Kneesaa's companions, Wicket W. Warrick, Latara, and Teebo, became so captivated by the plant's abilities that they pilfered it from Kneesaa and began making wishes without restraint. Overwhelmed by the multitude of requests, the plant gradually wilted, and by the time Kneesaa recovered it from her friends, it was on the brink of death.
Immediately afterward, the Leaf Queen returned to retrieve her plant. Realizing their role in the plant's deterioration, Kneesaa's friends concealed her involvement, informing the Leaf Queen that the plant was resting and that she should return later. The Leaf Queen, perplexed by their reluctance, decided to trust their word. However, before departing, she warned the Ewoks that anyone who harmed her plants would face severe consequences, demonstrating her power by destroying a nearby bag of leaves. The Ewoks panicked at this display, and after the Leaf Queen left, they desperately tried to revive the plant, even attempting to find a replacement for the withered shrub.
Despite their efforts, they failed to restore the plant, and by the time the Leaf Queen returned, the Ewoks had been unsuccessful in reviving it. Fearing the Leaf Queen's reaction, but knowing she had to accept her punishment, Kneesaa prepared to confront her and take responsibility. Before doing so, however, Kneesaa apologized to the plant, weeping over its withered state. Her tears, symbolizing the love the plant had lacked, seeped into the soil, miraculously reviving it. When the Leaf Queen entered the hut, she found the wish plant as healthy as she had left it. While the Ewoks were astonished by this turn of events, the Leaf Queen reminded Kneesaa that the plant only needed her love. As they watched, the wish plant produced three small seeds, which the Leaf Queen gifted to Kneesaa, instructing her to plant them before the snows arrived. Before leaving the village, the Leaf Queen assured the princess that she would become a worthy protector of the Soul Trees, confirming that the entire ordeal had likely been a test of her future leadership potential.

Shortly after the incident with the wish plant, the Snow King, one of the Leaf Queen's siblings, became romantically involved with Odra, a Frost Sprite. Odra manipulated the Snow King, freezing his heart and enlisting him in a scheme to steal the Sunstar, a powerful artifact that amplified its wielder's magical abilities. Under Odra's influence, the Snow King dispatched his Icehead servants to seize the Season Scepter from the Sun King, its current holder. The Iceheads easily obtained the staff, exploiting the Sun King's lack of vigilance. With the Season Scepter in his possession, the Snow King used it to plunge the moon into an unbearable cold, threatening to encase it in perpetual winter.
With all life on Endor at risk due to the Snow King's actions, the Leaf Queen and her other siblings formed an alliance to thwart their brother and his paramour. The Leaf Queen assumed leadership of the alliance and initiated measures to rectify the situation. Employing unknown methods, she attempted to contact Shaman Logray through the Sunstar residing in his hut. The Sunstar projected an image of the Leaf Queen inside the hut, requesting the Ewok shaman's immediate presence at the Sun King's palace. However, the message was intercepted by the same Ewok children who had encountered the Leaf Queen during the wish plant incident. The Leaf Queen had dispatched a flying leaf to Logray's hut to transport him to the palace. However, unable to locate Logray, but recognizing the urgency of the situation, the young Ewoks decided to answer the Leaf Queen's summons themselves. The four Ewoks boarded the flying leaf and embarked on their journey to meet with the Leaf Queen.
Back at the Sun King's palace, the three siblings awaited Logray's arrival. The snow and cold had intensified, and without the Sunstar and Logray's assistance, the Leaf Queen feared they would be unable to thaw the Snow King's heart and save Endor. The siblings were delighted when the Ewoks finally arrived but were disappointed to learn that they had not brought Logray or the Sunstar. It also emerged that Kneesaa had been abducted during the Ewoks' flight to the palace. Kneesaa's friends were eager to rescue her, but the Leaf Queen explained that without the Sunstar, the only means of melting the Snow King's heart was the Season Scepter.

While the Leaf Queen attempted to contact Logray again, the Ewok children departed the Sun King's palace to rescue Kneesaa from the Snow Palace. The young Ewoks successfully launched an attack on the Snow King's residence, rescuing Kneesaa, defeating Odra, and thawing the Snow King's frozen heart. Simultaneously, the Leaf Queen managed to contact Logray and Chief Chirpa, the leader of Bright Tree Village. The three siblings and the two Ewok leaders advanced on the Snow Palace, only to witness the sudden retreat of the snows. With his heart unfrozen, the Snow King used the Season Scepter to restore the weather to summer. The Leaf Queen and her entourage entered the Snow Palace to find the situation resolved and their brother restored to his normal self. After thanking the Ewok children, the Leaf Queen and her siblings resumed their usual routine, controlling the seasons on Endor.
The Leaf Queen possessed a matriarchal nature, extending her care to her siblings and the local Ewoks with a maternal affection. This disposition led to her worship as a source of intangible requests by the native Ewoks. However, the Leaf Queen was known to display her temper when provoked, even resorting to threats when things did not go her way. Among her siblings, the Leaf Queen appeared to wield the most influence, making decisions on their behalf when they were together. Although she appeared to be the foremost figure among her siblings, she did not seem to harbor disdain or resentment towards them, treating them as equals. This humility also extended to the local species on the forest moon, and she was even known to seek the advice of certain Ewoks at times.

The Leaf Queen was a powerful being attuned to the Force, and unlike her brothers, the Snow King and the Sun King, she could perform various feats without the aid of the Season Scepter. She carried a small wooden shaft that seemed to be connected to these abilities. Wielding the wand could produce effects ranging from a flash of brilliant flame to a holographic representation of past events. The extent to which this device was essential for performing these magical acts remains unknown, as the Leaf Queen always kept it on her person.
The Leaf Queen made her debut in the second episode of the second season of Ewoks, titled The Wish Plant, written by Bob Carrau. Following this appearance, she featured in the thirteenth episode of the Ewoks television show, also penned by Carrau, The Season Scepter. The Leaf Queen remained unmentioned until a brief reference in the Leektar Databank entry created by Arthur Papadam and Andrew Gilbertson for the What's The Story? contest. The entry also alluded to the Leaf Queen's wish plants, which Leektar had used to wish for increased status among his tribe. In Daniel Wallace's 2008 Hyperspace article, Castaways of Endor, an indirect reference to the Leaf Queen was made with the statement "What of the shamanism and earth-magic that has turned local kingpins into weather-controlling warlocks?"
