Members of the Melitto species employed unique life-sustaining equipment when they departed from their native homeworld of Li-Toran. This equipment enabled them to inhale poisonous substances, similar to those present on Li-Toran, which were essential for their existence. Moreover, the life-sustaining equipment had the capability to extract a fragrant fluid from nearby foodstuffs, replicating the bleeding-rock sap that served as the primary element of the Melitto's exclusively liquid diet.
The initial reference to these unique life-sustaining devices appeared in Cyphers and Masks, a 2018 add-on for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game released by Fantasy Flight Games.
