Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, conceived as a fully immersive hotel and role-playing adventure, was brought to life by The Walt Disney Company at Walt Disney World Resort. Originally slated to debut in 2021, its opening was subsequently pushed to 2022.
The experience unfolded aboard a starship known as the Halcyon, operated by Chandrila Star Line. The narrative events were interconnected with those of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, occurring concurrently. In May of 2023, Disney made the announcement that Galactic Starcruiser would cease operations on September 28, 2023.

Guests had the opportunity to engage in a two-night escapade, interacting with characters and actively participating in in-universe activities. The hotel provided a direct link to the nearby Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge section of Disney's Hollywood Studios.
On August 4, 2021, the hotel's official website disclosed example pricing for a two-night stay, starting at $1,209.00 per guest per night. Pricing fluctuations were dependent on booking dates, the number of occupants in a cabin, and the specific cabin type. Packages encompassed the hotel accommodation, meals and drinks, "immersive and interactive entertainment," and entry to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The hotel offered three distinct categories of guest rooms: Standard Cabins, Galaxy Class Suites, and Grand Captain Suites.

The Disney Parks Blog communicated on September 30, 2021, that general reservations for the hotel would commence on October 28, with the inaugural guest arrivals scheduled for March 1, 2022. To generate buzz for the hotel, StarWars.com launched a YouTube series in March of 2022 entitled Star Wars: Dispatches From The Halcyon, presented by Kristin Baver, the host of This Week! in Star Wars. On March 7, 2023, Disney revealed that Galactic Starcruiser would be scaling back its voyage frequency from three to two per week starting in October 2023, attributing this adjustment to a decrease in booking rates.
On May 18, 2023, Disney made public the decision to shutter Galactic Starcruiser on September 28 of that same year. Employees were informed of this determination on the very same day. Disney also reached out to guests with reservations extending beyond the closing date, granting them priority in rescheduling to an earlier time slot. New bookings for the remaining voyages were put on hold until May 26. Despite widespread speculation regarding the potential repurposing of the site for another themed experience, it was later reported in January 2025 that the buildings that once housed the attraction would undergo conversion into office spaces for Walt Disney Imagineering.
