Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – Knights of the Old Republic is a collected graphic novel that compiles the five issues of the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi miniseries. Initially, it was published under the title Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – The Collection and featured the same cover illustration, but the phrase "The Collection" was positioned right below the "Tales of the Jedi" logo, instead of at the cover's base. Moreover, it contained the original comic book covers for each issue.

Set four millennia prior to Luke Skywalker's time as the last Jedi, this collection introduces us to the Jedi who came before, each contributing in their own way to maintaining order and resisting the dark side's influence. This 136-page volume centers around Ulic Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider, two young initiates undergoing Jedi training. Their instruction takes an unexpected turn when they are thrust into a premature confrontation with Great Bogga, a Hutt crime boss who has murdered a highly influential Jedi Knight.
