Star Wars 78: Hoth Stuff! represents the seventy-eighth installment in the Marvel Star Wars comic book series.
Following the Battle of Hoth, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Lieutenant Barlon Hightower depart from Arbra to investigate a disabled freighter. This freighter seemingly originated from Hoth. Luke is under the impression that Wedge Antilles, described here as a childhood friend from Tatooine, is on board. Upon boarding, the ship appears to be empty, but the ship's log reveals a recording of Wedge's voice. The recording details how Wedge, along with fellow pilot Wes Janson, managed to survive the Battle of Hoth.
They were stuck on the planet for several months, struggling against the intense cold and attacks from Wampas. One day, while Wedge was hunting for ice scrabblers, a group of scavengers, led by Arns Grimraker, discovered the injured Janson and killed him. Wedge retaliated for his friend's death by commandeering the scavengers' ship and leading their pursuing vessels into the path of TIE fighters that remained in the Hoth system searching for surviving Rebels. The recording concludes with Wedge mentioning that his ship is now drifting aimlessly.
As it turns out, however, Wedge is still alive; he was simply performing repairs on the exterior of the transport. Wedge is happily reunited with his friend Luke, and the four Rebels return to Arbra to celebrate their reunion.
