The Dark Woman carries information for the Cerean Jedi, and it's not good news! After arriving on Tatooine, Ki has a meeting with the crime boss Jabba the Hutt. Even though the slimy crime lord had recently threatened Ki's daughter's life, Ki-Adi-Mundi has no alternative but to request Jabba's assistance in his mission. Ki is given assistance, but Jabba the Hutt never gives anything away for free!
As Ki-Adi-Mundi is preparing to depart Coruscant and travel to Tatooine, he is greeted by a long-time friend who offers a warning: the dark side is growing stronger, and the events that unfold in the desert will forever alter Ki. Upon his arrival on Tatooine, Ki has an encounter with Jabba the Hutt, who provides him with safe passage through the desert and access to a speeder. However, Ki soon realizes that Jabba has betrayed him, leading him into a sandstorm accompanied by a group of assassins.
