This type of field imposed the temporal characteristics of hyperspace onto a defined area, impacting computers and databanks by dramatically increasing their processing speeds, with no impact on organics or their environment. By the year 34 ABY, the First Order engineered an operational static hyperspace field generator, incorporating it within their experimental hyperspace tracker to pursue the retreating Resistance after their departure from their base situated on D'Qar.
