Stephax Dain, a Human male, resided on Corellia during the era of the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Yavin, he rose to the position of lieutenant within the Meatlump gang, a terrorist organization on Corellia known for their aversion to technology. In the year 1 ABY, Dain orchestrated a bold assault on a Weapons Research Facility situated on Rori, a moon of Naboo. However, Kaiya Merel, a rival lieutenant within the Meatlumps, sought to prevent Dain from claiming sole credit for the operation. Consequently, she directed a new Meatlump recruit to investigate Dain's encampment near Kor Vella. The spacer discovered a well-used journal containing comprehensive details of Dain's strategy. Merel then instructed her recruit to sabotage the facility's functions before her rival could act, but by the time the spacer reached Rori, Stephax and his Meatlump pronks had already seized control. The adventurer then launched an attack on the Meatlumps in order to gain control of the research facility, resulting in the death of Stephax Dain and several pronks.

Stephax Dain was featured as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The game was eventually shut down on December 15, 2011. The character Stephax Dain was introduced to the game in the "Chapter 10: The Search for the Meatlump King" update, which went live on June 19, 2008.
Depending on the player's Combat Level (CL), this NPC was referred to as either Stephax Dain or Dephax Stain within the game. If the player completed the quest "The Meatlumps Hideout, Part 7" while leveling their character (at CL 65), the NPC's name would be Stephax Dain. Conversely, if the player completed the quest after reaching the game's end (at CL 90), the NPC would be identified as Dephax Stain. Various narrative cues suggested that the quest was designed to be undertaken at CL 65.
