Kaiya Merel

Kaiya Merel was a female Human who resided on Corellia during the era of the Galactic Civil War. She held membership within the Meatlump gang.

Biography

Following the Battle of Yavin, Kaiya Merel served as a lieutenant in the Meatlumps, a group of criminals and thugs with a disdain for technology, based in Coronet. Alliin Mepou, an aged and disillusioned individual, was among the Meatlumps under her command.

In the year 1 ABY, Vani Korr, a reporter from the Corellia Times, was conducting an investigation into the Meatlumps, aiming to uncover the location of the legendary Meatlump Hideout. She sent a spacer to make contact with Alliin Mepou. Mepou, being an old Meatlump, wished to depart from the organization, but was unable to retire unless someone else took his place. The spacer, desiring to infiltrate the Meatlumps on behalf of Vani Korr, eagerly agreed to replace Mepou.

The spacer encountered Kaiya Merel in Coronet and successfully persuaded her to allow them to join the Meatlumps. Merel put forth several tasks to assess her new recruit. She expressed a desire to initiate a collaboration with two other criminals, Erinn Bonette and Echdo Bervekk, officers who were Rogue within CorSec. She instructed her new recruit to assist the Rogue CorSec in hijacking a shuttle. However, the spacer instead eliminated them and deceived Kaiya Merel by claiming that CorSec agents had raided their meeting.

Subsequently, Kaiya Merel discovered that Stephax Dain, another Meatlump lieutenant, was orchestrating a significant operation, but she was unwilling to allow her rival to receive any recognition for it. She assigned her new recruit the task of searching Stephax Dain's camp near Kor Vella. The spacer located a well-used notebook containing comprehensive details about Stephax's plans: an assault on a Weapons Research Facility situated on Rori, a moon of Naboo. Consequently, Kaiya Merel instructed the spacer to disrupt the facility's operations before her rival could. However, upon the spacer's arrival on Rori, Stephax and his Meatlump pronks had already seized control of the facility. The adventurer then launched an attack on the Meatlumps, resulting in the deaths of Stephax Dain and numerous pronks. Upon the spacer's return to Corellia, Kaiya Merel expressed immense satisfaction at the demise of her rival. She ultimately accepted the spacer into the Meatlumps permanently and granted access to the Meatlump Hideout, situated within the Coronet Maintenance Tunnels. Eventually, the spacer encountered the legendary Meatlump King within the hideout, enabling Vani Korr to publish the article titled Who are the Meatlumps?.
