Vani Korr, a Human female, held the position of journalist at the Corellia Times in Coronet City on Corellia. She performed her duties during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
In the wake of the Battle of Yavin, Vani Korr commenced an investigation into the activities of the Meatlumps, a group of fanatical anti-technology thugs operating on Corellia. However, in 1 ABY, the Meatlumps became aware of her investigation and resolved to put a stop to it. Merkie Howzat, a sublieutenant within the Meatlumps, along with a group of Meatlump henchmen, ambushed her speeder in Coronet, causing it to overturn while she was driving. Korr was ejected from the vehicle and lost consciousness. She was subsequently rescued by CorSec officers and admitted to the Coronet Hospital. This assault nearly brought her investigation to a standstill.

Not long after, a spacer observed a group of Meatlumps vandalizing power generators in Coronet and intervened. A fierce confrontation ensued, resulting in the Meatlumps' defeat. Shortly after the initial skirmish concluded, Merkie Howzat arrived on the scene, only to be defeated by the traveler as well. The traveler discovered a viewscreen bearing the Corellia Times logo and decided to locate its owner. The spacer encountered Finn Shallo, a Corellia Times employee, outside the newspaper building. Shallo informed the traveler that the viewscreen belonged to Vani Korr and suggested that the traveler visit her in the hospital. Upon the traveler's arrival, Vani recognized an opportunity to complete her investigation of the Meatlumps and enlisted the traveler's assistance.

The traveler consented to help her recover several Meatlump datapads containing crucial information. The traveler tracked down Meatlump gathering places throughout Coronet and successfully obtained nine datapads, which were then delivered to Vani. Regrettably for Vani, the datapads were encrypted, requiring a passcode for access. However, Vani devised a clever strategy. She reasoned that members of the Meatlump hierarchy's upper ranks might possess the passcode. The traveler was instructed to visit one of the numerous Meatlump camps scattered around Coronet and transmit an emergency signal from their communication device to Meatlump headquarters, which would likely prompt them to dispatch a lieutenant to investigate the call. Upon the lieutenant's arrival, the traveler was to persuade him to divulge the code. The plan was executed, and after some forceful negotiations, the traveler obtained the code—which turned out to be simply "meatlumps"—and relayed it to Vani. Vani was then able to conclude her investigation and compose the initial segment of an exposé on the Meatlumps, titled Who are the Meatlumps?. As a gesture of gratitude, Vani Korr presented the traveler with an early copy of her article, along with a modest sum of credits.

Analysis of the datapads revealed a communication mentioning a "King of the Meatlumps." Vani Korr believed this was the kind of exclusive information she had been hoping for and decided to delve deeper. To substantiate the existence of the Meatlump King, she first needed to locate him. Consequently, she tasked the spacer with finding the Meatlump Hideout. With this objective in mind, she began monitoring recent acts of vandalism targeting machinery and technology to identify a connection to the Meatlumps. The first incident she discovered was an attack on Talan Joben's crate-manufacturing company, where machinery and crates were destroyed. However, the spacer uncovered that the retired explorer turned terrorist Riyan Kiner was responsible. Vani later encountered a droid engineer, Zorajas Garamin, who claimed his droids had been sabotaged. Yet, this also proved to be a false lead, as Garamin was, in fact, a delusional farmer attempting to cultivate droids by planting them in the ground. The spacer then journeyed to Talus to meet a speeder bike racer named Sul Prine. While the presence of Meatlumps on another planet was improbable, Prine claimed that a group of Meatlumps had destroyed the speeder bikes parked at his place. The spacer subsequently discovered that a group of Meatlumps led by the lieutenant Strilath Farles was actually based on Talus. The adventurer encountered Strilath Farles in Doaba Guerfel and attempted to negotiate the location of the Meatlump Hideout in exchange for assistance against Gramo Murah's Ragtags. However, the spacer was deceived, as Farles withheld the location of the hideout.

The subsequent lead finally proved fruitful. Vani Korr received information that a Meatlump was vandalizing generators in Coronet. This elderly Meatlump, Alliin Mepou, was quite disillusioned but could not retire from the Meatlumps unless a new person took his place. The spacer, realizing he could exploit this situation to infiltrate the Meatlumps, agreed to replace the old man. The spacer then went to work for Alliin Mepou's lieutenant: Kaiya Merel. The woman considered positively the admission of the adventurer among the Meatlumps but not without testing this new recruit. As a first mission, the spacer was tasked to help two Rogue CorSec officers, Erinn Bonette and Echdo Bervekk, to hijack a shuttle. Then, Kaiya Merel ordered her new recruit to disrupt the plans of one of her rivals, another Meatlump lieutenant by the name Stephax Dain. The spacer traveled to Naboo's moon of Rori and killed Dain to not let him get any credit for his successful attack of a Weapons Research Facility. Kaiya Merel was extremely satisfied of the death of her rival and definitively accepted the spacer among the Meatlumps. Finally, she also gave the spacer the location of the Meatlump Hideout, located in some abandoned maintenance tunnels below Coronet, and free access to it.
As Vani Korr's efforts yielded positive results, another Corellia Times reporter, Halden Wes, joined the investigation to assist the young woman. While she focused on the Meatlump Hideout on Corellia, Wes was more interested in the Meatlump activities and violent actions committed on other worlds. In the meantime, the spacer entered the Meatlump Hideout and finally encountered the legendary Meatlump King. The information gathered in the hideout allowed Vani Korr to finalize her article.
Vani Korr was featured as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, which was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts. The game was shut down on December 15, 2011. Vani Korr was integrated into the game through "Publish 21," which was released on August 4, 2005.
The initial quests centered around Vani Korr were pre-NGE quests that formed the "Corellian Times Investigations" story arc. These quests became available after the player had defeated the Meatlump Merkie Howzat and recovered Vani's viewscreen from his remains. Vani Korr's quests were later significantly expanded as part of "Chapter 10: The Search for the Meatlump King," which was released on June 19, 2008. This update introduced a new series of quests offered by Vani Korr. These quests directly followed the original pre-NGE quests and introduced the "Meatlumps Theme Park." Moreover, a new quest that simply involved killing Merkie Howzat was added to bridge the gap between Vani Korr's original quests and the "Legacy Quest," which was the main quest line in the game.
