During the era of the Galactic Republic, a public house known as the Sunken Sarlacc cantina operated as both a drinking and dining establishment within the city of Sobrik on the planet Balmorra.
The Sunken Sarlacc cantina was a sizable structure situated in the Balmorrian city of Sobrik. It was occupied by the reconstituted Sith Empire throughout the period known as the Cold War.
Even after the Sith assumed control of the city, some residents continued to frequent the cantina during the occupation. While customers enjoyed their beverages, Imperial soldiers and droids patrolled the streets, and numerous security cameras were installed around the building's perimeter.
Despite the Empire's efforts to subdue the local population, the Republic dispatched operatives to undermine the Sith's presence in Sobrik. On one occasion, Republic forces infiltrated the cantina and activated the Republic anthem, aiming to inspire the remaining inhabitants and freedom fighters to initiate a rebellion against the occupying forces.
The cantina's design included several hallways, moderately sized rooms, and a spacious central hall, where patrons gathered for drinks and relaxation. Holographic dancers provided entertainment for the customers.
The bar's interior design reflected an Imperial aesthetic, potentially due to renovations carried out by the Empire within the city.
The cantina appears as a location that players can visit in the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic during a quest given to Republic characters. Activating the speaker playing the "Republic March," which originally appeared in BioWare's previous video game, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, forms a part of a larger undertaking to infiltrate the city of Sobrik.
