This star, visible from the planet Sunrise as it orbited around it, was not cataloged within the Chiss Ascendancy's records. Despite this, the star's spectrum was determined to be within the acceptable range for supporting typical life forms. In the year 18 BBY, following a battle against the Grysk, Qilori, a Pathfinder navigator, observed the setting sun from a dining space within a mining facility on Sunrise, noting the red clouds encircling it. Soon after, Mitth'raw'nuruodo, a Chiss Senior Captain, contemplated the diminishing light of the star while seated on a rock at the mining compound, prior to Qilori's arrival.
The sun of Sunrise made its debut in Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, a 2021 novel. This book represents the concluding part of the Ascendancy Trilogy, authored by Timothy Zahn.
