Sur-avka were flying species that were native to the planet of Polyneus. Because New Republic pilot Wyl Lark was raised riding sur-avka on Polyneus, he gained the skills required to fly starfighters. These creatures possessed down feathers, leathery skin, and a notably offensive smell.
