Essvee, formally designated SV-38P, was a protocol droid with a feminine-programmed personality. Prior to the raid on Kessel, she suffered extensive damage in an airspeeder accident. Subsequently, Tibbs Ospe acquired her, removing her cognitive unit to be used in the Fort Ypso Lodge's bar, repurposing her as a translator. Midnight, the bartender, agreed with the custom droid L3-37 that L3-37 could retain components for Essvee. Afterwards, Midnight documented his interactions with Essvee in his journal, noting that her complaints about her duties were limited to once per hour.
The initial reference to SV-38P appeared in the 2018 replica journal Solo: A Star Wars Story: Tales from Vandor, published by Studio Fun International.
