The title of Syndic Prime denoted a political rank employed by certain Chiss families who held representation in the Chiss Ascendancy's primary governing structure, the Chiss Syndicure. This position was viewed as the leading Syndic from one of the Nine Ruling Families within the Chiss Ascendancy inside the Chiss Syndicure. The rank of Syndic Prime, when in use, was immediately subordinate to that of Speaker, thus establishing it as the third most prestigious political position known within a Chiss family. Typically, this rank was a closely guarded secret within the family, only to be activated when a greater degree of influence was required. An example of someone who achieved this rank is Mitth'urf'ianico of the Mitth family, who attained the status of Syndic Prime following his service as both an Aristocra and a Syndic.
