An obelisk of extraterrestrial origin was present on the celestial body known as Syned One. This object was situated within the Syned system of the Outer Rim Territories'. The alignment of the stars caused the alien obelisk to unveil peculiar inscriptions on its exterior once every six centuries, or six hundred years. This event reoccurred in 3643 BBY.
About that year, a person affiliated with one of the warring factions involved in the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire dispatched an associate to witness the unveiling of the obelisk's inscriptions. This associate managed to decode a map from the obelisk, which guided them to an unusual finding.
The obelisk appeared in the 2011 video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, a product of BioWare, in the Crew Skill Mission entitled "The Syned Conjuction." However, details concerning the mission's resolution were subsequently taken out of the game.
