Tassar was a Human female from Zakuul who lived through the Galactic War. Serving as a Battalion Commander within the Eternal Empire, she is best known as the primary creator of the Star Fortress initiative. These enormous battlestations played a key role in the successful subjugation of a large portion of the Core Worlds following the Eternal Empire conquest of the galaxy. During the war against Zakuul, the Anti-Zakuul Alliance destroyed multiple Star Fortresses, leading to Tassar's decline in political power. After Vaylin took control of the Eternal Throne, Tassar, rather than face Vaylin's anger, chose to go into exile along with her loyal soldiers. Her followers held her in high regard, and a cult began to form around her. They eventually intercepted an Alliance transport carrying samples for Juvard Illip Oggurobb, which led Tassar to discover Rakata Prime and the technology of the ancient Infinite Empire. Her goal was to use this technology to improve the Star Fortress design, making them completely indestructible. Tassar and her followers made considerable progress on Rakata Prime, constructing a new Star Fortress on the planet's surface. However, after Vaylin's death, Alliance forces discovered them. A strike team was dispatched in 3629 BBY to stop Tassar and her plans. They defeated her Scout Captain, Sterla, and eventually reached the beachhead where Tassar confronted them with a battalion of Skytroopers. After a long and difficult battle, the Alliance forces emerged victorious and killed Tassar, effectively ending the Star Fortress program for good.
