Tatsu, a Pantoran male, held the rank of Padawan within the Jedi Order. During the Clone Wars, he served the Galactic Republic as a Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic.
Tatsu, a Pantoran strong in the Force, was the Padawan learner of Jedi Master Bruu Jun-Fan during the era of the Clone Wars. Like most Jedi initiates, Tatsu crafted his own lightsaber at a young age, which emitted a green blade. His Master, Bruu Jun-Fan, attained the rank of General within the Grand Army of the Republic. He participated in a skirmish on Orto Norwe, a significant event where he, Jun-Fan, Plo Koon, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Grohto, and Ko Solok journeyed to Orto Norwe with the purpose of capturing Darth Maul and his sibling, Savage Opress.
During the confrontation with Opress, as Maul and Savage were in the process of fleeing from the Jedi strike force with Esano's sister (who had promised to pay the two Sith for her liberation from the Scourge gang), Tatsu taunted Opress, calling him a coward. In retaliation for this insult, Savage severed Tatsu's right hand. Subsequently, the Sith duo made their escape along with the female, resulting in the deaths of Grohto and several clone troopers. Due to his injury, Tatsu was unable to continue the pursuit of Darth Maul and his brother to Pleem's Nexus.
During the skirmish on Pleem's Nexus, his Master Bruu Jun-Fan, along with Ko Solok, met their end at the hands of Maul, leaving Tatsu without a master.
