Located in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy, along the Hydian Way, was the celestial body known as Telos. During the campaign at Salient, Admiral Utu commanded an Imperial battle group that was positioned at Telos. Utu was asked by Moff Wilhuff Tarkin to send any available vessels from Telos to Salient; subsequently, a commander informed Tarkin that Utu intended to dispatch two Star Destroyers.
The planet Telos was initially presented as Telos IV within the Star Wars Legends comic Star Wars (1977) 16 published in 1978. Its initial mention within canonical material occurred in James Luceno's 2016 novel, Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel.
