The Den

The Den, situated in Daiyu City on the planet Daiyu, was an unsavory establishment that housed both a spice laboratory and a sabacc gambling den. The business's name was displayed on a purple sign written in Aurebesh, while a red sign above a doorway advertised "sabacc," complete with playing card illustrations at its base. A similar sign, this one blue, was also visible from the street. On the building's roof, a sign proclaimed "spice," as did a street-level marker.

History

The spice lab in The Den.

During his search for the abducted Princess Leia Organa, Obi-Wan Kenobi sought directions to "the sewers" from Haja Estree. Estree provided the directions but expressed his doubt that Kenobi would gain entry. Upon reaching The Den, Kenobi observed a worker in a lab coat exiting a doorway marked "sabacc." Kenobi, disguising himself as a worker, infiltrated the building and entered a makeshift spice laboratory. There, he detonated a glass tank, creating a diversion that allowed him to slip through a door. He was then confronted by two guards: a Zabrak and a human employee, who questioned his presence. Kenobi engaged the pair in combat. Despite their resistance, he subdued them, coercing the Human guard into revealing Leia's location.

Kenobi discovered a cell containing a hooded figure, whom he assumed was Princess Leia. However, it was a discarded droid being used as a decoy. Consequently, Kenobi was captured by Vect Nokru's green-skinned alien and Nikto accomplices, who restrained him. Nokru taunted Kenobi for risking everything for a "little brat," confident that he and his associates would profit handsomely by delivering Kenobi to the Third Sister. Kenobi pressed Nokru for Leia's location, but Nokru dismissed him as a mere mortal who bleeds. Kenobi retorted that "everybody bleeds," before releasing a vial of red spice that blinded the mercenaries. Seizing the opportunity, Kenobi escaped and locked the kidnappers in their own cell.

Subsequently, Kenobi located Leia and escorted her from the sewers, exiting through the same door he had used to enter. Simultaneously, Nokru and his associates grappled with the spice's effects as the Third Sister arrived, demanding to know Kenobi's whereabouts in a furious manner.
