The Glitch emerged as a breakaway group from the Droid Gotra, which itself was a criminal organization comprised of disgruntled droids following the conclusion of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY. In that very year, the Glitch separated from the Droid Gotra, subsequently instigating a droid rebellion on Coruscant, the planetary capital of the Galactic Empire.
News of the impending revolt reached the Coruscant Security Force, who subsequently uncovered a consignment of fake Xrexus Cartel restraining bolts intended for use during the uprising. This discovery prompted Inspector Tanivos Divo to initiate an investigation into the cartel. Exantor Divo, Divo's grandson, included a reference to the Glitch within an entry in his book, Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, which saw publication in 34 ABY.
