Story Summary

After the Empire tries to assassinate Luke by blowing up his X-wing starfighter, he sees a vision of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan informs Luke about the hidden Lost City of the Jedi located beneath Yavin 4's rain forests. Unbeknownst to Luke, the city is the residence of a twelve-year-old boy named Ken, referred to as the "Jedi Prince." Within the city, utilizing the extensive databanks on the computers, Ken learns about the history of the Jedi and the Rebellion from his only companions, his caretaker droids. While Luke is exploring the forests, he encounters a mysterious healer named Baji. Together, they search the forests and eventually come across Ken, who had fled from the droids. Before he can be questioned further, his caretaker droid locates him, and they both disappear in a puff of smoke created by Dee-Jay. Luke, now even more determined to locate the city, returns to seek assistance from the other Rebels.

In the meantime, Trioculus, the new Emperor, holds a meeting with Supreme Prophet Kadann. Kadann reveals to him that he is not the true son of Palpatine, but still gives him the Prophets' blessing. He also tells him about the Lost City of the Jedi, where the Jedi Prince resides, stating that this prince could bring an end to Trioculus' reign. Managing to infiltrate the Rebel's meeting with an explosive device, he demands that they reveal the city's location. When they refuse, he prepares to detonate the device, all while admiring the beauty of Princess Leia. As Luke prevents the explosion, Trioculus initiates his second plan: to burn down the forests in order to find the city's entrance. During this process, he suddenly goes blind and orders the capture of the healer, Baji. Baji explains to him that using the Glove of Darth Vader is damaging his nerve endings, leading to blindness and the decay of his body. Baji informs him of a cure, but it can only be found in his hut, which is on the verge of being destroyed by the fires. Unable to halt his troops, Trioculus rushes into the hut, saves the cure, but suffers severe burns and scars. As the Rebels try to stop the troops, Luke finally discovers the City. With the assistance of the droids at the weather control center, he creates a rainstorm that extinguishes the fires. Ken decides to leave with Luke and join the Rebels in their fight, departing from the City and his caretakers. Failing to find the city, Trioculus departs from the planet, promising to destroy all of the Rebels except for Leia, whom he intends to make his queen.
