"The Enigma of Tet-Ami," a comic story, initially saw publication within Star Wars Tales 13. Subsequently, it was included in both Star Wars Tales Volume 4 and Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: Rise of the Sith Vol. 1.
A TV personality, Kruy Mulacks, is broadcasting his Holo show live from the archaeological dig site on Carthas. This newsman has journeyed to Carthas as the Temple of Tet-Ami begins to yield its secrets to archaeologists. As Kruy Mulacks addresses his audience, the Jedi Master known as Mace Windu arrives at the location. Consulting his holo-map, he proceeds toward the temple. Upon arrival, he employs a key to unlock a passage previously unknown to the archaeologists present.
Mace enters the temple, passing by some corroded figures. He examines them with curiosity, questioning, "Are these droids?" He then activates a switch, bringing the droids to life. Fortunately, Mace swiftly draws his lightsaber and efficiently deals with the activated droids.
Proceeding through a set of doors, he is surprised to find a statue resembling himself. Mace then retrieves a box from his bag, extracting a green, orb-like object. He places this orb in the statue's outstretched hand. The orb then begins to emit a hum, and a green light engulfs the room, causing Mace to shield his eyes.
As the green light subsides, Mace discovers that he has been transported to an ancient battlefield where the Carthasians are under attack by a bestial species. Mace Windu joins the Carthasians in battle, and after four arduous days, the Carthasians celebrate their victory, hailing their hero: Tet Ami. Then, enveloped in green light, Mace vanishes once more.
He reappears within the tomb as the Carthasian archaeologists break through. The green glowing orb falls to the floor, now emitting a white glow.
Upon his return to Coruscant, Mace shares his experience with Jedi Master Yoda. Yoda explains that centuries prior, the Jedi discovered the temple and safeguarded its secrets due to its nature as a time paradox. The Jedi had patiently waited until they were certain Mace Windu would become a Jedi, as "always must a Jedi start the job he finished!"
