Theljan whales inhabited the Thelj waters. They were able to shatter the icy green layer that sometimes formed over the planet's aquatic regions. In 382 BBY, a pod of Theljan whales congregated beneath the ice as Yana Ro, Kor Plouth, and Treze, members of the Children of the Open Hand, made their way toward the Graf compound. Shortly after Yana and Kor escaped the compound following their unsuccessful mission, the whale pod had grown significantly and started ramming the ice. After the whales created an opening in the ice, the Evereni managed to avoid falling into the water, but she was compelled to abandon her girlfriend's body. Dark shapes then appeared from the freshly created hole and seized Kor's remains, carrying them away.
