Thelj

Thelj was a world situated four sectors from the planet of Dalna, serving as the homeworld for a diverse group of inhabitants. The planet hosted a varied population of settlers.

Description

Located four sectors distant from Dalna, Thelj was a planet characterized by a frigid surface. The world's landscape was marked by frozen expanses of emerald green water ice. Original settlers, in collaboration with Republic scientists, ingeniously established artificial temperate zones across the planet. This was achieved by creating vents that released heated air, enabling life to flourish on the surface. Beneath the icy surface, Theljan whales inhabited the planet's waters.

History

Approximately three centuries prior to 382 BBY, Thelj was designated as a potential colony under the auspices of the Galactic Republic. Shortly after the initial settlement, the planet's sun experienced a sudden and catastrophic collapse, plunging the world into darkness. Consequently, Thelj began to freeze, resulting in widespread fatalities among the settlers. However, scientists dispatched by the Republic devised a solution to mitigate the effects of the solar collapse. They provided shelter to the surviving inhabitants by tapping into the planet's core, generating vents that emitted heated air. These vents created pockets of temperate terrain, which became the focal points for the planet's structures and population centers. Among these were Bhatiqu, the planet's only city, as well as the Graf compound.

Around the year 382 BBY, Yana Ro, Kor Plouth, and [Treze], members of the Children of the Open Hand, journeyed to Thelj aboard Sunshine Dobbs's vessel, the Scupper. Their objective was to infiltrate the Graf family's compound and seize the Jedi Tears, a Force-related artifact. The mission ultimately failed, resulting in the deaths of Kor and Treze, as well as three employees of the Graf family.

More than a century later, in 230 BBY, the planet became the target of an attack perpetrated by the Nihil, a pirate organization.

Inhabitants

Thelj served as the homeworld for a mixed population comprising at least two distinct species: humans and Duros.
