A government ruled the Ishi Tib people of the planet Tibrin throughout the Imperial Era. At its head was a spiritual leader of great importance, the Kalikeedan, and another high-ranking official, the Mariod. During the Galactic Civil War, the Ishi Tib Govi held the position of Mariod, and the planet possessed a fleet that was composed of, at minimum, three Marsheem-class heavy cruisers. After Princess Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker completed a mission to Tibrin sometime after the Battle of Yavin, the Ishi Tib chose to align themselves with the Rebel Alliance in their struggle against the Galactic Empire, which was present on Tibrin.
