Tiny existed as a dianoga inside the water system of a water dispenser. This dispenser was located in the market courtyard of Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu, which itself is situated in the Outer Rim. More specifically, the dispenser was across from The Wooden Wookiee stall and close to the Black Spire Outpost Obelisk. On occasion, Tiny could be spotted peering from the water within a tank positioned directly above the dispenser. Additionally, its movements could be detected via sounds emanating from the plumbing within the nearby public refreshers. The colors of Tiny's eye consisted of yellow-green, black, and red, and its skin was brown.
In the year 34 ABY, Eloc Throno, a historian, made reference to Tiny within his book titled Traveler's Guide to Batuu. Furthermore, Bina, the proprietor of the Creature Stall in Black Spire Outpost, incorporated an illustration of Tiny into her own guidebook, named Bina's Guide to the Creatures of Batuu.

For Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, a themed area inside of a theme park, Tiny was realized as an Audio-Animatronic figure. Galaxy's Edge initially opened at Disneyland Park on May 31, 2019. Animated concept art, part of a YouTube video entitled "Disney Parks Imagineers and Lucasfilm Collaborate on Star Wars-Themed Lands," unveiled the creature for the first time. The video was uploaded on April 15, 2017. Tiny was also initially mentioned in the D23 article, "Creatures, Droids, and Aliens: Meet the Fantastical Figures of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge," which went live on May 29, 2019.
