The Titterbugs were a species of sentient insectoid race that inhabited the Forest Moon of Endor. These diminutive creatures possessed four legs, two arms, and an orange carapace on some individuals. Their heads were disproportionately large, featuring two sizable eyes, a broad mouth, a pair of antennae, and a head covered in hair. Titterbugs recognized certain members as princesses. In 3 ABY, one of these Titterbug princesses was considered a potential spouse for Vork, the prince of the Gorphs, another Endorian tribe.

Titterbugs were a species of sentient insectoids with a height of approximately 0.33 meters. Their bodies consisted of three distinct parts: head, thorax, and abdomen. From the abdomen extended six limbs: four segmented legs with two toes each for upright locomotion, and two arms with three fingers for delicate manipulation. Some Titterbugs displayed an orange carapace adorned with reddish-brown markings.
A slender neck supported the large, expansive head. The face, at least in some individuals, was pale from the chin to just above the upper lip. A Titterbug's mouth could form a small pucker or a wide grin, revealing large, pale teeth. The rest of the head shared the same color as the body's carapace. Titterbugs possessed two large, yellow eyes with black pupils, and some even had eyelashes. They also had hair, with reddish-brown being one possible color. Two jointed, black antennae protruded from the hair on top of their heads.
Titterbugs sometimes possessed voices with a high pitch. Their society included individuals designated as princesses, identifiable by a gold-colored crown. They interacted with other groups, including the rotund Gorphs.
In 3 ABY, a Titterbug princess was in the running to become the wife of Vork, prince of the Gorphs. His mother, Queen Slugga, desired a princess of wealth and breeding. At the Gorphs' grotto, this Titterbug princess stood with other candidates, including the princess of the Mudgubs, just outside the audience chamber. The Mudgub princess was presented first, but soon the Titterbug princess was carried into the chamber by two bouncing Gorph guards. Prince Vork appeared pleased, but Slugga disapproved and ordered the princess thrown into a large hole in the grotto floor, known as "the pit." Despite this, the Titterbug princess continued to giggle.
Writer Paul Dini conceived the Titterbugs for the Ewoks animated series. They debuted in the episode "Princess Latara," which aired on September 20, 1986.
