Frontmatter:
Toalagar, serving as a pilot for the Rebel Alliance, was apprehended by the forces of the Galactic Empire. He was subsequently dispatched to the penal colony known as Stars' End, accompanied by his comrade and fellow aviator, Captain Samuel Raider. Toalagar, along with Raider and other captured Rebel pilots, successfully broke free and concealed themselves aboard the BFF-1 bulk freighter named Genue, which was en route to Kashyyyk. Subsequently, the Rebel rescue shuttle Drago along with a pair of Red Squadron R-22 Spearhead starfighters, piloted by Captain Keyan Farlander and Lieutenant Cardacs, accomplished a successful rescue before Imperial forces could recapture them.
The escaped prisoners had been hearing whispers for several months regarding a new weapon developed by the Empire, however, they had been unable to approach anyone with more information. They did, however, discover that Wookiee slaves were being transported to contribute to the project. Sam Raider, a fellow escapee and friend of Toalagar, relayed the information about the Wookiees to the Alliance, leading to his selection as the leader of Red Squadron for a rescue mission. Raider initially selected Farlander and Sunnar Jan-lo as his wingmates, but he ultimately chose Toalagar in place of Jan-lo after Toalagar expressed his desire to participate, citing a lack of activity.
Piloting R-22 Spearheads, the trio of Rebel pilots engaged Assault Gunboats, providing defense for the bulk freighter named Toral while the Y-wings belonging to Blue Squadron disabled the freighter in preparation for a boarding operation. Despite the mission's success, Toalagar's R-22 was obliterated by a concussion missile fired from one of the Assault Gunboats during the initial attack run, resulting in the pilot's death, a tragic event for which Raider, Toalagar's friend, held himself responsible.
